Dr. Yasmin Ratanshi BDS

Dr. Yasmin Ratanshi graduated from Glasgow University in 1984 and has been practicing dentistry ever since. After working as an Associate in Glasgow for a year, she moved to London and gained extensive experience at various practices in both London and Hertfordshire. In partnership with her husband, Dr. Ratanshi opened her own practice in Welwyn Garden City, where she continues to provide exceptional care.

Dedicated to staying at the forefront of dental advancements, Dr. Ratanshi regularly attends continuing education courses to update her knowledge of the latest products and techniques. She is particularly passionate about all aspects of dentistry, with a special interest in endodontics. Patients appreciate her ability to help them achieve the healthy mouth and beautiful smile they've always desired, particularly those who have struggled to find a dentist they trust and can communicate with.

Dr. Ratanshi is also highly skilled in treating patients with dental anxiety. She has a unique ability to put even the most fearful patients at ease, using techniques to help them relax and overcome their fears. Her approach ensures that all patients, including those who have avoided necessary dental care in the past, feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.

Dr. Ratanshi firmly believes that life is better with great teeth and that everyone deserves a healthy mouth and a beautiful smile. Even for those who are apprehensive about dental visits, she is committed to ensuring a positive and stress-free experience.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Ratanshi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, swimming, keeping fit, learning about different cultures, and traveling.

Dr. Sapna Savani BDS

Dental Experts (GDC No: 68590)

Dr. Sapna Savani qualified with a BDS degree from Guy’s Hospital, London, in 1992. Since then, she has gained extensive experience working in general practice across North West London and Hertfordshire, joining the Woodhall Dental team in 2007.

Dr. Savani's clinical interests focus on restorative dentistry, including veneers, crowns, bridgework, and prosthetics. She is dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in dentistry, regularly attending Continuing Professional Development courses to enhance her skills and provide the highest quality care to her patients. Her commitment to using the latest technology and techniques ensures that she delivers up-to-date, comprehensive dental care.

Known for her dedication to excellence, clinical skill, and warm chairside manner, Dr. Savani has become a valued member of the practice. She is an active member of the General Dental Council, Dental Protection, and the Hertfordshire Local Dental Committee.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Savani enjoys playing badminton, listening to music, and traveling with her family. She is married and has two young sons.

Helen Carey

Hygienist (GDC No: 174707)

Helen Carey is a highly skilled dental hygienist with over a decade of experience in the field of oral health. Known for her exceptional care and dedication to improving the oral hygiene of her patients, Helen has built a strong reputation throughout her career.

Helen began her journey in dentistry in 2000 as a dental nurse in a general practice. Driven by a desire to make a greater impact, she enrolled at King’s College in 2006 to pursue a career as a dental hygienist. She successfully completed her qualification in 2009, earning professional credentials from one of London’s most prestigious dental institutions.

Throughout her career, Helen has worked in several renowned practices across London, including locations like Holland Park and Harley Street. Her meticulous attention to detail, expertise, and gentle, patient-focused approach have made her a sought-after hygienist in the city.

In 2023, Helen moved to Welwyn Garden City, seeking new opportunities to continue her mission of promoting excellent oral health. With a commitment to staying at the forefront of dental advancements, she regularly participates in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses to enhance her skills and ensure she provides the highest standard of care to her patients.

Outside of work, Helen enjoys a variety of hobbies, including visiting the cinema, enjoying thrilling experiences at theme parks, and attending comic conventions.

Her professional expertise, compassionate approach, and commitment to lifelong learning make her a valued asset in the field of dentistry. With her recent move to Welwyn Garden City, she is excited to continue making a positive impact and further solidify her reputation as a trusted dental hygienist.

Emily Schofield

Dental Nurse (GDC No: 294302)

Emily Schofield joined the Woodhall Dental Practice team in 2018 as a trainee dental nurse and obtained her Dental Nursing Diploma in 2020. Since qualifying, Emily has developed a strong passion for all aspects of dentistry, particularly enjoying the rewarding experience of seeing patients leave satisfied with their care.

In addition to her clinical work, Emily enjoys her administrative responsibilities and appreciates the balance of alternating between working in the surgery and as a receptionist. With over two years of experience as a qualified dental nurse, Emily is eager to expand her knowledge and skills. She plans to pursue further education through a dental hygienist/therapy course and is excited about the future opportunities this career path offers.

Outside of work, Emily is an active footballer for Stevenage FC Women, training twice a week and playing matches every Sunday. She also enjoys traveling, walking her dog, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Jessica Baker

Dental Nurse (GDC No: 319594)

Jessica Baker began her journey in dental nursing in October 2021, enrolling in a dental course that she successfully completed in July 2024, passing her exams with flying colours. Prior to pursuing dental nursing, she earned a diploma in Health and Social Care, which laid a strong foundation for her career in healthcare.

Jessica is hardworking, dedicated, and genuinely enjoys all aspects of dentistry. She finds great satisfaction in supporting patients and contributing to their positive experiences at Woodhall Dental Practice. She appreciates the collaborative environment at the practice, where all team members are welcoming and always ready to offer guidance whenever needed.

Jessica is passionate about expanding her skills and continuing to learn in her role, and she looks forward to further developing her expertise by enrolling in a dental therapist or hygienist course as she progresses in her career.

Lilly-mae Allerton

Trainee Dental Nurse

I have always been passionate about working in the healthcare sector, though it took time to discover the specific path I wanted to pursue. My journey began in college, where I completed a Health and Social Care course. This experience exposed me to various areas within healthcare and sparked my interest in dental nursing.

After conducting thorough research, I realized that dental nursing was the perfect career for me. It combines my desire to help and care for people with an opportunity to build a fulfilling and dynamic career. After completing level 2 of the course, I actively sought an apprenticeship that would allow me to gain hands-on experience, earn a professional qualification, and contribute meaningfully to patient care. When I discovered this dental nursing apprenticeship, I immediately recognized it as an ideal opportunity to achieve my goals.

In my free time, I enjoy attending music festivals and events, spending time with friends, and exploring new places. Traveling allows me to experience diverse cultures and cuisines, which I find both exciting and enriching.
